Ever feel like you need a few days off to sight-see, shop, and eat delicious food with your bestie? If only every day could be like that, am I right? I was recently craving some time off to relax and refuel creatively; to bring a fresh mindset and perspective to my interior design projects. My schedule wouldn’t allow for a trip so, I invited my bestie to Atlanta for a staycation. Turns out, it was exactly what both of us needed! It was an absolute blast showing Alyssa around the city and hitting some of my favorite spots. I’ll admit, I was tired by the end of it and my feet weren’t happy, but I was also overwhelmed with inspiration and gratitude for friendship, family, my ATL interior design business - life in general.

Our staycation itinerary was tailored to our interest in yummy eats, aesthetic interiors, art and design, and unique shopping experiences. If you resonate with any of these, or simply want to plan your own ATL staycation, then check out “A Guide to Violet Marsh Interiors’ Favorite Atlanta Spots” below:

Atlanta Restaurants

Doughnut Dollies

Doughnut Dollies is my go-to for delicious doughnuts. I mean, just look at them! The fact that they make every part of the doughnuts in-house every morning and only use real, high quality ingredients is the cherry on top.

Daily Chew

Daily Chew is an everyday cafe, for specialty coffee, breakfast, brunch, lunch, pita sandwiches, local veggies, and provisions in the Piedmont Heights Neighborhood in Atlanta, GA. We went here for lunch and enjoyed the community-style seating.

Holeman and Finch Public House

Known for good food, good drinks, good people, we enjoyed a wonderful dinner at Holeman and Finch Public House. Located in the heart of midtown in Colony Square, this restaurant is a convivial place to gather and enjoy a respite from the day.

Lyla Lila

Lyla Lila is a southern European restaurant in the heart of Midtown Atlanta. The menu evolves seasonally reflecting local availability from vegetables to seafood. Through genuine hospitality and heartfelt care, they strive to provide an exceptional experience, which I can attest to - every meal I have here is delectable and memorable.

JoJo’s Beloved Cocktail Lounge

Nestled in a secluded interior of Colony Square, JoJo’s Beloved Cocktail Lounge boasts stunning cathedral-height ceilings, an all-vinyl soundtrack, and a romantic vibe. My bestie and I enjoyed cocktails here while taking in all the sights, sounds, and scents of the environment.

Atlanta Shopping

Megan Huntz

Located in the Morningside Village neighborhood, Megan Huntz is built on the belief that elegance can be an easy, everyday practice. With a mantra of "local, ethical, sustainable," the fine clothing the brand carries is entirely produced in Atlanta.

Moosh

Moosh is a lifestyle concept boutique with carefully curated women and children’s clothing, accessories, and home decor. I welcomed Spring and Summer vibes into my wardrobe by buying the dress shown in the picture. Can’t wait to wear it!

Souk Bohemian

Located in Ponce City Market, Souk Bohemian is where lifestyle meets leisure and culture meets curation. The brand partners with local and global artisans for ready-to-wear pieces, home decor, small-batch jewelry, and handmade accessories. Their curated offering is minimal with a global aesthetic. One of my personal local Atlanta favorites!

Bella Cucina

Located in the Shops of Buckhead, Bella Cucina believes beauty extends beyond the table and into the home. They search the globe for objects of affection and collaborate with like-minded artisans to create beautiful essentials for the home and kitchen.

Atlanta Self-Care

Faced Facial Studio

Including time for self-care is a must for a staycation. I highly recommend checking out one of Faced Facial Studio’s three locations for a custom facial. We left with ultra-fresh skin and feeling super relaxed.

Le Labo

Although visiting Le Labo could also fit into the shopping category, I think of treating yourself to their products as a form of self-care. To experience all of their soulful fragrances, check out their store in Buckhead.

Atlanta Art & Culture

High Museum of Art

The High Museum of Art meets audiences at the intersection of culture and community. As a place to find inspiration and discover new ideas, every visit is unique and impactful.

The Galleries of Miami Circle

Located in the center of Buckhead, Miami Circle has long been known as Atlanta’s top resource for interior design, as well as the location for the city’s highest concentration of art galleries. As an Atlanta interior designer, this spot is at the top of my favorites list.

National Center for Civil and Human Rights

Located in downtown Atlanta, the National Center for Civil and Human Rights is dedicated to the achievements of the civil rights movement in the United States and the broader worldwide human rights movement. It’s a must-see if you’re in Atlanta!

Although I’m from New Hampshire, I’m so happy that I’ve found myself in Atlanta. The city and its surrounding neighborhoods never fail to serve as inspiration for both my personal life and professional interior design life. I’d love to spend my days exploring the city, and then telling all about it, but my main role through Violet Marsh Interiors is to bring modern, luxury interior design to homes and spaces in Atlanta.
